Patient journey

The patient journey starts long before passing the hospital doors and ends also much later than the hospital dismissal. As the patient stay in the hospital is optimized for efficiency, the patient journey extra muros becomes more and more important. We therefore focus on the end-2-end user experience for patient and treating physician, with data and insights throughout the entire patient lifecycle.

Throughout this end-2-end journey, the patient passes many different care givers and and at each stop, patient data is collected and stored. This data needs to come together to avoid the patient frustration that he or she has to provide the same data every time again, but also for the doctor, nurse, kine,... to get a holistic view on the patient and his or her medical history. Data platforms, open standards, integration APIs are only a few technical means to support a better clinical workflow for both the patient and the health practicioner.

InspireHealth has the clinical insights combined with the technical expertise of the Cronos competence centers to deliver solutions to leverage data exchange between all stakeholders in the patient journey. See our ref cases for some examples.

People focus

People drive the organization and therefore also the change process. Therefore we focus on the people and have dedicated change management tracks to assist and guide everyone successfully through the transformation.

It is clear that the pressure on the medical staff is very high these days, resulting in a very high burn-out rate among nurses and doctors, which, on its turn, is again resulting in more pressure for the remaining people. In addition to this personnel shortage, a lot of time is spent on administrative tasks which should better be spent on patient care. Any additional change in workflow, is therefore only accepted if it results in a reduced overhead and more patient time. Even tools that result in reduced administrative workload, will first pass a learning phase before showing their full benefit. Throughout this process, it is critical that people on the workfloor are actively involved in the digital transformation trajectory.

This human-centered transformation approach is an important part of our InspireHealth values on healthTech. We therefore address projects from the view of the user from the first phase and not at the end.

AI Inspiration sessions

Co-definition

We work together with you throughout the entire project, from initial ideation over analysis, design, implementation and maintenance & governance. Involving the stakeholders from the start results in a solution that has the buy-in of the people that will be using it. As such, co-definition is a prerequisite for a successful transformation project in your organization.

Medvia released a whitepaper in April 2024 about the 'Paradigm Shifts in Health Innovation: From Product Push to Market Pull'. This whitepaper elaborates on the evolution that is seen in Belgian healthcare organisations on how new products and solutions become part of their operational ecosystem. This study confirms that hospitals are looking for solutions that perfectly fit their workflow and their needs. As such, they prefer to co-define solutions with their technology partner instead of being forced to use off-the-shelf products.

This fits perfectly with our view on collaboration with our customers as we see them more as a partner with whom we co-develop a solution to their problem. This doesn't mean that everything needs to be built from scratch. Instead existing products or components can be used in the solution, but the end result must be seamless experience for the hospital staff, meeting their needs and helping them in giving better care to their patients.

Open eco-system

We are not bound to one vendor or technology. Instead we foster openness and interoperability in our solutions. As a result every project will strive for an optimal outcome, which is a best of breed of technologies, components and products.

The advantage of the InspireHealth community in the Cronos group is the opportunity to make use of expert centers for every type of technology. Sometimes there are even multiple competence centers per topic, allowing us to offer the healthcare customers a broad pallet of technological solutions, while maintaining the niche expertise per technological domain.

For example, we have a pool of more than 250 AI experts, further subdivided in specialists in various competence centers for NLP, Computer vision, GenAI, OpenAI, GoogleAI, on-premise deployments, etc. Similarly, we have competence centers specialized in Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Oracle, SAP,... For any cloud, ERP, modern workspace or data warehouse solution, one or more competence centers have the expertise and smoothly collaborate amongst each other within projects governed by InspireHealth.
