Responsibilities:

• Identify and analyze hospital needs in close collaboration with business analysts and translate into technical requirements for application integration and optimization.
• Select, implement and maintain appropriate applications and systems to support and improve hospital work processes.
• Play integral role in designing, testing, implementing and managing application integration solutions, including modifying existing software and developing custom solutions as needed. This includes knowledge of EHR solutions, FIHR and HL7.
• Monitor application performance and availability, proactively resolve technical issues and perform system upgrades and updates.
• Collaborate with vendors and external partners to provide technical support and expertise in resolving complex technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and security standards, such as HIPAA, GDPR and other industry-specific requirements.
• Train and support internal users and medical staff in the effective use of applications and systems.
• Document technical specifications, implementation steps and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or similar discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT positions, preferably with demonstrated experience in integrating and managing applications within healthcare.
• Thorough knowledge of healthcare and hospital workflows, terminology and systems is a plus.
• Experience with application integration tools and methodologies, such as HL7, FHIR, APIs and other relevant standards.
• Strong programming skills and experience with languages such as Java, C#, Python, or similar.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and solve technical problems.
• Good communication skills to work effectively with internal teams, medical professionals and external partners.
• Healthcare IT certifications, such as CPHIMS, are a plus.
• Flexibility and willingness to work across multiple client locations in Belgium.
